A trial run on the valentine hair for Belle to wear to church.

She wants to have her hair sprayed red for school.

She says that her hair is the orange kind of red, not the love kind of red.

Jan 22

Belle and Daddy bonding over the ads.

One of them circled all the good deals and matched them with coupons.

The other one pretty much circled everything.

You have much to learn, young grasshopper.

Jan 21

It snowed again.

The girls went out to play.

They got cold and tired.

This is how we found Belle afterwards.

It's tough being a kid.

Jan 20

Inspired by a few youtube videos, Belle created a work of (he)art in Mommy's hair.

And made a request for her own Valentine's Day hair.

I hope we remember.

Jan 19

You raise you hands in the air like you just don't care.

And sleep like a boss.

Jan 18

True story.

And the hoverboard is coming to stores soon.

Jan 17

The glass was installed in our new shower today.

It was a great relief to see it go in after our Thanksgiving week project was involuntarily extended two months.

And showering in it is AWESOME!

Jan 16

Today Mommy's family had a group video chat.

This shows all the girls smiling.

Oldest brother is somewhere behind the black rectangle.

Gotta love technology.

Jan 15

Rex is becoming quite a photographer.

Legos are his subjects of choice.

Right now he's in a ninja phase.

Jan 14

This puppy has great skill when it comes to finding the tiny sliver of sun so she can bask.

And bask she does.

Jan 13

It snowed today.

The light dusting looks beautiful on the roof.

And that's all we got.

Jan 12

The cake was not the only super cute and creative thing at the baby shower.

We had rubber ducks bathing in the punch bowl,
two AWESOME diaper cakes
and even a boquet of sock flowers.

The spread of food was delicious also.

It is so much fun to celebrate our friends!!

Jan 11

Mommy and her friends made a cake for a favorite friend's baby shower.

She's having twin boys so they made
two diapered bummys
four wrinkly feet
and twenty pudgy toes.

And since even twins have their own personalities
the blankets are different patterns and colors.

Belle played outside today and came inside to show that she had turned into Pinkalicious.

It was C-C-COLD outside.

Jan 9

Belle was SO excited for the first day of school spirit week: Mis-Matched Monday.

She was all dressed up and ready to go before the big kids had to get on the bus.

Too bad she was a whole two weeks early.

Jan 8

Mommy looked good at church today.

And lots of people told her so.

Jan 7

Belle decided to experiment with new hair styles today.

This is one she's she tied her two pig tails in a knot on top of her head.

And is irresistibly adorable.

This is Leia's first day of ski club and a family friend happened to be at the mountain watching his 3rd grader's first attempt at skiing.

He snapped a picture and I've seen this picture, but we don't have a copy yet.

She had a great time until she got back to the school parking lot and puked on the bus.

Poor baby.
We (mommy) should have seen this coming.

Jan 5

Dancing Princess Leia asked if she could join the ski club this year.

We said yes and then found out that 2nd graders could join only if an older sibling was participating, too.

We got special permission,
paid lots of money,
bought all the gear
(including this hat, but minus skis)
and prepared to ship her little 7 year old bummy
up the mountain on Friday nights
to ski with a bunch of strangers.

Jan 4

Rex found a new game on the computer and the girls are REALLY interested.

It's called ROBLOX.

It's a megablocks (in quality, not brand) version of a Lego game.

He nicely showed them how to register and log in to play their own game.
And we have to keep telling them that if they want to play the game
they have to know how and we won't help.

So Rex does.

Mmm. Pumpkin Bread!

Even better, it was made using mommy's new mixer paddle with built in scrapers to keep the bowl clean.

WE LOVE IT!

We had our second Christmas today.

The kids got stockings and grandparent presents on our trip, but because of the limited space in the van, we saved family and Santa gifts for today.

The kids left out a plate of cookies, a glass of milk and a note when they went out to the grocery store with dad. Before they left, they noticed the elf was gone and when they came back they saw that Santa had come.

Along with many fun and thoughtful gifts for each other, the kids each got a big set of Legos and put themselves into a "Lego coma" for most of the afternoon.

We arrived home from our Alabama Christmas vacation at 4am to a happy puppy. Being greeted by an energetic puppy is a great way to start a year.

She wore herself out, though.

Being a (10 year-old) puppy is hard work.

2012 Resolution

Let's try this again!

My plan is to take at least one photo a day to post and allow a glimpse into our everyday life.

Wish me luck!
This is an album created to raise money for research about the chromosome abnormality that affects my brother, know as Smith-Magenis Syndrome. I like it. Have a listen and if you're interested you can buy the album. Learn the story of the man behind this album at his blog: http://pacingthepanicroom.blogspot.com
